I accepted Jesus as my Savior at an early age, was raised in church, and have been there all my life.
For years I didn’t realize that God wanted to have a personal relationship with me and wanted to use me in a marvelous way to further His Kingdom here on earth. As I studied the Bible more and more, I started to see who God really is, and how He wants to bless His children (those who have accepted Jesus as Savior.)
For many years I was fulfilled in my Christian life by being faithful to my church and participating in all the activities there. The more I started to seek God, though, the more I found myself being miserable in just doing good works for the church. It seemed like there was a huge hole in my life that I couldn’t figure out how to fill. I found myself wanting to be a part of something truly ordained by God that would change the lives of people who came in contact with it. I wanted to see God change lives so much that they could look back on that time as being one where they learned something that stuck with them even years later – and it was the catalyst that started change on a deeper level.
There is nothing in this world that can compare to the feeling that God specifically chose YOU to accomplish a certain thing for Him. And He chose YOU because there is no one else like YOU in all the world, and YOU are the one who can do this particular thing better than anyone else.
There is also nothing like hearing God speak to you through the Holy Spirit so that you are certain about a situation. Then He also speaks to others and tells them the same thing he told you. It is a marvelous thing to learn to hear the Holy Spirit and open your heart and mind to the way He works, then act in obedience to what He says.
God has totally and radically changed my life. I can’t thank and praise Him enough for what He has done, and how He has been able to use me when I have walked in obedience to His desires.
In January of 2015, the Holy Spirit gave me a specific word that He desired me to tell the Millennial Generation (1981 – 1996) about what He has done in my life. I have read much about this generation, and how they have supposedly quit the church and quit their faith. But I believe God has told me that they are just looking to be a part of something REAL like I was. They don’t want to just do “things” if those “things” aren’t important to God. They want to make their time, talents, gifts, and abilities count for something that will last for eternity – not just DO SOMETHING JUST TO DO SOMETHING, or do something because it has always been done that way.
I believe Millennials want to be a part of something great God is doing that will make an impact for eternity. And I want to share with them all the awesome things God is teaching me that have so radically changed my life from one who was satisfied doing good things to one who now doesn’t want to do that good thing unless it has been ordained and blessed by God.
That’s the only way a person who so desperately needs God can ever be changed and transformed by Him and end up being greatly used by Him. Will you be a Millennial who will choose to allow God to radically transform your life into one that can truly make a difference for Him?
Please take the time to read the articles on my blog. From the time I started it in 2008 until now, God has led me to always make each article evergreen and only post it when I knew the Holy Spirit was through telling me what to write. That means if you read the post 10 years after it was written the Holy Spirit can still speak to your life through it. This is not because of me, but totally because the Holy Spirit showed me what to write.
I give Him all the praise and honor for however He chooses to use my site – It’s His Anyway.
